Smoking brakes
Terrible experience with road assistance and car safety. We rented a manual Renault Clio and on our first mountain descent, the front wheels started smoking and smelling bad. When we called assistance, we were dismissed and told 'it’s normal, use engine brake'. We were already driving in 1st and 2nd gear! The second day was exactly the same. Instead of enjoying the beautiful island, we were constantly stressed about the brakes failing. Dismissing a serious safety issue like smoking brakes as 'normal' is unacceptable."
